A growth mindset is a great thing to have. And anyone can get it.

Growth mindset is the idea that we can keep learning and growing throughout our lives.
It says everyone’s abilities, intelligence, and talents can be developed and improved through dedication, and persistence.

It helps you approach challenges, setbacks, and failures as opportunities for learning and personal development, and not as signs of your own or limitations.

That means if you embrace a growth mindset you are more likely to embrace challenges, and persevere in the face of obstacles. You will also be more likely to seek out feedback, learn from others, and constantly work towards improving yourself.

To nurture a growth mindset, you can follow these tips:

1. embracing the power of "yet" in one's thinking.

o For example, instead of saying "I can't do this," say "I can't do this YET".
Adding "yet" at the end acknowledges that it's just a matter of time, effort, and learning. This small shift in language will help you acknowledge that positive change can happen if given time and effort.

2. seeking out challenges and stepping outside your comfort zone.

o Taking on activities that are initially difficult or unfamiliar and that give you an opportunity to learn and grow.
By embracing challenges, you learn that you can expand your skill set, develop new talents, and build resilience.

3. reframing failures and setbacks as learning experiences.

o Don’t think about your mistakes as limitations. Instead embrace them and look at them as learning experiences. Look at what went wrong, what you could do differently, and then use this information to improve and grow.

4. cultivating a love for lifelong learning.

o Actively seeking knowledge, acquiring new skills, and being open to different perspectives grows you. It grows your brain, your intellectual curiosity, and you as a person.

By deciding to value learning to learn, you can keep broadening your horizons and your understanding of the world around you.

5. surrounding yourself with supportive, positive and growth-oriented people.

o Working and socialising with people who believe in the power of growth and provide encouragement, feedback, and inspiration can help you do the same and help grow your own growth mindset, motivation, and resilience.

What is the old saying - it's hard to fly like an eagle if you are surrounded by turkeys!

Having a growth mindset is good for your mind, body, and soul.
It helps with your own personal growth, your learning, your ability to succeed, and your resilience.

By embracing a belief in your own capacity to grow, you will grow.

Growth mindset is a concept developed by Stanford psychologist Carol S. Dweck.
